“Situated in a traditional Spanish farmhouse on a working olive grove, our Ibiza club was a completely unique project for our design team, led by Senior Designer Sophie Baker. Spanning 2,246 sq m of countryside, the goal was to create a proper retreat for members; a place where they can really relax and recharge. ‘The building originated as a family home, and there’s a real warmth to it from the moment you walk in. It has a domestic feel, despite its scale,’ Baker explains. ‘Given the building’s inherent charm, our aim was to avoid altering its foundation much at all. We’ve retained original features like the high ceilings, terracotta floors and wooden beams, which have been lovingly preserved since the building’s inception. That was very important to us.’ When it came to designing each space, Baker and her team took inspiration from the natural beauty of the island. ‘We selected the colours, materials and textures carefully,’ she says. ‘We kept a serene, rustic farmhouse aesthetic – lots of wood and organic textures in the furniture, curated antiques, and delicate lighting. But we also incorporated subtle references to Ibiza’s bohemian history, using 1970s antiques and coloured glass to add energy into the otherwise calming environment.”
